No. 04 of the .codes imprint.
fonts.codes is a specimen library of the free-font canon: every family on Google Fonts and Fontshare, libre picks from Velvetyne, and 100 editor's picks with hand-written notes and paired quotes. 1,655 typefaces on one pannable canvas. Drag, scroll, pinch, click.
The hero of every page is the work itself: the font, in the font. A big sample, the glyph set, the weight ladder, the designer's name in lights. The editor's picks read the quote they were matched to; in time, each will carry a color from colors.codes.
Each specimen states the family-level license and links to its source. Google Fonts families use open-source licenses; Fontshare mixes SIL OFL and the ITF Free Font License; the Velvetyne selection is SIL OFL. Some actions open a provider page and some deliver a source ZIP—we label the difference instead of pretending every link is a direct download. Always review the linked terms for redistribution and modification. Prefer reading to wandering? The whole collection sits on one plain page.
