fonts.codes does not require an account and does not set advertising cookies. Saved fonts, collections, comparison choices, theme preference, and local experience counters stay in this browser’s local storage.
Stored on this device
The keys fc:theme, fc:favorites, fc:collections, fc:compare, and fc:metrics-v1 support the interface. Metrics are allow-listed event totals and timestamps only. Search terms, editable specimen text, font names, identity, and fingerprints are not written to the metrics store.
You can clear saved items in their respective screens, clear the private counters on the local metrics dashboard, or remove site data through your browser settings.
Font preview providers
To show the real typefaces, your browser may request stylesheets and font files from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), Fontshare (api.fontshare.com and cdn.fontshare.com), and jsDelivr for selected Velvetyne files (cdn.jsdelivr.net). Those providers receive normal web-request information such as your IP address and user agent under their own policies. If a provider fails or times out, the site exposes the fallback instead of silently pretending it loaded.
Measurement
By default, experience counters remain on this device. A production operator may configure Plausible, a privacy-focused aggregate analytics service, using the PUBLIC_PLAUSIBLE_DOMAIN build setting. When unset, no Plausible script is requested. If configured, only allow-listed event names and the pathname are sent—never specimen copy or search text.
Links, downloads, and sharing
Specimen pages link to providers, foundry repositories, and license sites. Following those links moves you to their privacy terms. Share uses your browser’s native share sheet or clipboard when available. fonts.codes does not receive the people or apps you share with.
